PJB Plumbing & Gasfitting

About Us

Peter Bellamy, the owner operator of PJB Plumbing & Gasfitting, takes pride in knowing he provides a reliable and honest service to his customers.

From solving a leaky shower recess through to designing and installing an Under Floor Heating system, the attitude remains the same.

Do it right the first time.

Some may say Peter is of the old school, preferring to use copper pipe instead of the “You-beaut” plastic spaghetti now popular in most new builds. Whilst PJB Plumbing & Gasfitting are happy to install plumbing to new homes, Peter enjoys tackling maintenance problems. Be it a commercial site or a domestic job, it makes little difference.

Today, there are trades who are only qualified in one part of their trade, and who try to offer a complete service. Others are not licensed with the Department of Fair trade. How many people ask to see the tradesman's contractor license card? Check out our "Links" page, there is a link for the Fair Trade license check site. This site will give you a history of that particular contractor.

The time spent in England proved valuable as it was here that Peter gained qualifications with OFTEC, and began servicing various heating boilers. This lead to a relationship with Grant Boilers, installing their products. From here Peter began installing solar panels, connecting these to a mains pressure hot water cylinders which were also connected to an oil fired boiler. After this, Peter found Heat bank cylinders and began installing these.

It was using the Solar Pandora heat bank cylinders that really took Peter’s interest. With one of these cylinders you could run your entire house. The heat source input for these units could come from thermal, solar, gas, oil, combustion stoves & electric or all of the above. The heat stored could then be used for DHW, HTG, & UFH. Clients were amazed that in the middle of a UK winter you could get heat from the sun or out of the ground; take this heat and pump it round your house!

Looking ahead, the future for off-peak electric hot water cylinders here in Australia is not good. With-in 5 or so years this method of heating will be phased out due to “carbon trading”. The future will be efficient solar panels, connected to large volume cylinders, boosted by natural gas. A thermal store.
